Little Lounge Singer

We recently went to the Children's Museum for a birthday party and Gianna's favorite activity is the little karaoke lounge.

She's is really good at matching tones and making up lyrics.  I can't wait to see what this little munchkin does with all her talents.

A Day at the Zoo

During Easter break, Gianna and I took a little road trip to visit our good friends who live in New Roads.  On our way their, we stopped in Baton Rouge to meet them at the wonderful zoo there. A cold front had come through that morning and it the highs were in the upper 50's.  In the beautiful sunshine - it was just perfect zoo weather.

 Gianna got quite a kick out of this alligator...

....and the fact that he smiled at her and opened one eye.

Gianna said her favorite animals were the flamingos.  They really were quite beautiful. 

My favorite were the monkeys...

We had a lot of fun doing lots of "Eastery" things last week in terms of egg hunts and other traditions.  In addition to all those fun experiences, we also spent quite a bit of time in church for the Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday.    The liturgies were long, but rich with beautiful scripture and music.  It's amazing how that all soaks in to the little minds and spirits of our small children.  I'm happy to say that it had as much of an impact on her as did the all the fun, secular stuff.  Here is Gianna having a little church service prior to bedtime.

School Easter Party

Gianna was so excited about her Easter Party for school.  It was held at a local park and she's finally gotten excited about hunting Easter eggs.  So excited, in fact, that she made me hide eggs in the house the night before to sharpen her skills.  So cute.

On the Hunt

You may remember our first Spectacular Eggstravangza at the Woodard's last year.

We were privileged to be invited to the awesome Easter celebration on the river - hosted by the sweetest family.  Tons of kids. Tons of eggs. Tons of food. Tons of fun.

And they're off...

She would'v spent the whole party with that little dog....

....that is until she discovered this...

Yep - a tumble bus (little gym inside - along with a gymanstic coach!) made from an old school bus.

When Gianna emerged from the bus the first time she told me,

"Mommy, my dream came true! I finally got to go on a school bus!!!"

I had to be sure she understood that all school buses did not look like THIS inside!

Pretty clever idea, huh?

She would have stayed in their ALL DAY LONG!

Gianna wanted to participate in the egg toss - until she realized they play with raw eggs!

Fun to watch though.

I forget what you call this game, but some sweet kids taught Gianna to play.

What a fun day full of fun memories.

Bunnies

Somehow I've remembered to take these bunny pics each year.

Do you think she'll be so excited when she's 16?

I took Gianna to a sweet little photo shoot offered by a friend.  They had bunnies, chicks and ducks and I was curious how Gianna would react. 

She nervously held the bunny until the bunny started snuggling into her. She was so delighted and kept saying, "Look! He loves me. He loves me! Am I a mama now?"

Worth it!
