Eggcelent Adventures

Some mom friends are beyond amazing.
Case in point....my friend Candi.
I didn't get a good picture of her because she's either loving on babies or spearheading creative activities. Holy Cannoli - the things she organizes are so much fun and so appreciated by the kids and the moms. This is what has become an annual Easter Party and Egg Hunt.
The kids hunted for over 150 eggs.  They were the confetti eggs, so once they collected them, they smashed them on each other.  So cute.

Can you see that front tooth is looking a little wonky?  Won't be long now....

And then there was a Tug-O-War Game...
And there was the bunny nose race.  Each kid got a dollop of vaseline on their nose and a plate of cotton balls and an empty cup.  They had to get the cotton to stick on their nose and deposit it in the cup with the use of their hands. So FUNNY!

And then there were the 3 Legged Races.
So tricky teaching that concept for the 1st time.
They cracked themselves up.

What a fun afternoon.
Thank you, Candi, for your hospitality, creativity and for being our very own Cruise Director!

A Sweet Easter Visit

My friend Liz and her growing family popped in The Chuck for a quick visit before heading back to Texas.  Her best friend growing up,, Emily, hosted a little picnic playdate at her mom's place so all the kids could get together.

Maggie was a bit shy at first....
And then there's THIS little munchkin who seems to have the world by the tail.

Emily is Maggie's godmother.  They don't get to see each other near enough because of the distance.  I'm glad that had this sweet moment.

How cute is this little gang?
 Here's to a successful visit!
Looking forward to the newest Baby Delaney coming soon.
(I still can't believe you don't know the gender!!)

Tooth Fairy Strikes Again

She lost her first tooth in February.  You really couldn't tell because it was a small bottom tooth.  But alas...one of the top ones started it's Wiggle Fest and within hours, she had it loose enough to pull.

She was cracking herself up letting it hang from her mouth.
I need to show her that movie.

And now....
...we've got a big ol' honkin' space.  I was dreading this look.  I loved all her tiny little chicklet teeth.  I am not looking forward to those big huge donkey teeth pushing invading that cute smile.
But I have to say.....she sure does look adorable.

And of course, she had to write another note to the Tooth Fairy.....

The tooth fairy did not disappoint....

And yes....she got Fairy Dust.  She asked for it to be sprinkled on her so she could fly when she woke up.  The Tooth Fairy, in her wisdom, denied this request but gave in to allowing Gianna to have this little keepsake...which may, or may not, smell like ground cloves that have been in MeMaw's spice cabinet for about 50 years.
I'm thinking the Tooth Fairy needs to slow her game.  We've got a lot of teeth left to go....and I have it on good authority that she is getting worn out.

Blog Fast

Seems as though I gave up blogging for Lent. Unintentionally. Man, it's challenging to motivate myself to blog. I used to be so good...or maybe consistent is a better word. Tempting as it might be to give it all up, I really value the written record of my little family. I know I've gotten less verbose, sometimes posting pictures only. I have so much to say, but I've become much more discerning about what I choose to share, mostly because I doubt my thoughts are of interest, but a bit because I got tired of being misunderstood. And then there's the fact that, I'm tired. I used to unwind by writing. Now, I find it draining. I feel like I'm just trying to keep my head above water most days.  I don't enjoy writing these days - even though I usually am very pleased once having written. Maybe that will change.

So, during this Easter season, I am challenging myself to do a little catch up.  I'll start with current events and work backwards.  Hmm. (I'm already getting tired thinking of it.)

Positive thoughts....
I will be certain to announce the new (old) posts on my Lewis Land Facebook page.  If you like the page, new posts will show in your feed.

Park Place

The day before Easter Break, our school dismissed at noon - while most of the others were still in session.  We took advantage of a lovely shaded park that day, and it was nearly empty.

Gianna's best school buddy, Nacey, and her mom came along.
These two are a hoot together.

So glad we got some shots before those teeth all went missing.
