Halloween Crafternoon

Sarah the Brave is back in town and hosted another Halloween Crafternoon.  Before they moved to New Orleans a few years ago, we had one at her house when the munchkins were 2/3 years old.  That post is HERE. Now that they've moved back and Ben's in school, she had another Halloween shindig for his classmates and a few other friends.
Sooo creative and fun.

How cute is all this food?  And YUMMY!
Sarah's mother-in-law helped with some of the preparation.  What an awesome spread!

And even dry ice for the punch...

And a pop the pumpkin game with prizes.

She had a basket of fall leaves with glitter glue.  So simple. So cute.

Gianna was very generous with the glitter glue application...
....like it took four days to dry generous.
....Jett helped M.E. with her art project.

They could glue cottonballs onto black paper to make ghosts....

 Gianna's big ol' ghost....

 Sweet Caroline....

Three little goblins....

  So cute....

Sweet little munchkins.

Halloween Tea

We were invited to our friend Brenda's home for a little tea party with Gianna and Brenda's little cousin, Jayda.  Oh my word!  I can't even describe how she decorated her beautiful home in the most amazing, classy. whimsical way.  The pictures don't do it justice. And my camera battery gave out before I could get the outside and several other little vignettes that I missed at first.  She thought of everything.

Check out the apple on top of the pile...

Even the decorations had decorations....

 Every square inch was decorated....

Brenda gave them tea lessons (I didn't know half the stuff she taught them!)

She even had little projects for them to do, which they ended up taking home because they were big into dress up with the costumes be brought...

Thank you, Brenda, for a most wonderful day....and for adopting these two munchkins as your rented grandkids before you have your own!

Rolling Along....

Kindergarten is rolling along.
Gianna's class is so precious.  Four boys and ELEVEN girls!  ELEVEN!!!

Their teacher is amazing.  She has the same magnanimous energy in the morning as she does when I pick Gianna up.  We are blessed.
 Gianna is learning so much.
Looks pretty studious with those glasses, huh?

She is THIS excited to go to school EVERY DAY....

Here's a sampling of her poetry...

Skirting the Issue...

Gianna came home from school last week with a handout promoting an upcoming All-Pro Dad's Breakfast for the dads and kids of our school.  Ugh.  It felt like a punch in the gut. Gianna was thrilled because her teacher really talked it up to her telling her that she could have her PePaw or Uncle bring her.  We were in the midst of an especially difficult week and I couldn't imagine her sitting in an entire room of fathers with their children.  I talked to her about it and told her it was super-early in the  morning and tried to dismiss the idea.
She fell apart and didn't take well to my suggestion. She told me EVERYONE was going to be there.

Out of desperation I called the mom of one of her classmates asking if her husband was taking their child to the event.  She told me he'd be working and was worried her daughter was disappointed as well.  So, we decided to get donuts and have a little picnic tailgate before school in lieu of the Fathers Breakfast.  They picked up  another classmate and came to meet us.  They were ECSTATIC.
 How cute are these munchkins?
They all have personality out the wazoo...

So grateful for these friends who helped us remedy a potentially emotional situation.
