Sock Hop

This is Lilliana.  I adore her.

Her tenth birthday was on July 2nd.  She and her family (long time close friends of mine) came into town to celebrate her big day.  Her party was a sock hop and they held it on July 4th.  We got there late and left early, but it was SO precious and they embraced the theme in a big way.
All the kids and adults dressed in 50's attire (except for the party-pooper Lewis' - who stand by the idea that we dressed like we were IN our 50's.) I really wish I'd have been on top of my game because they're attention to detail was amazing.  They had grilled burgers and fried their own french fries and even had a jacked up malt shop where you could make your own malts.  Precioius.  They danced to 50's music and even had a dance off and hula hoop contest.  Daddy's and daughters danced and uncles and nieces.
The kids' Aunt Pammie and Uncle Allen asked Gianna if she wanted to go see their horse.
"Bye Mommy!" she quickly uttered.
The big kids jumped on the back and off they went.
What a fun nod to 50's!

In a related story, we had our own little sock hop in Lewis Land tonight.  Gianna had a grand performance (you'd swear someone slipped her a mickey) and sang and dance for a good 30 minutes without taking a breath.
I know that Iain and I are probably the only ones who will fall over laughing every time we see this little video clip (which didn't even catch the funniest bits), but it's one of those moments I don't want to forget.  Our sides are hurting we laughed so hard at her dramatic and unyielding performance.

Conclusion:
NO MORE CHOCOLATE PUDDING FOR GIANNA!!!
