A Brand New Year

"What eye has not seen, and ear has not heard, and what has not entered the human heart, what God has prepared for those who love him,"
1 Corinthians 2:9

Looking ahead, I cannot even begin to imagine what 2010 has in store for us.  I enter this new year with hope, renewed faith, gratitude and commitment to do and to be better.
I'm intend to learn from past pitfalls.

I love this little little "autobiography" that I read years ago, but was reminded of today.

Autobiography in Five Short Chapters
by Portia Nelson

Chapter I
I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I fall in.
I am lost... I am hopeless.
It isn't my fault.
It takes forever to find a way out.

Chapter II
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don't see it.
I fall in again.
I can't believe I am in this same place.
But it isn't my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.

Chapter III
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I see it there.
I still fall in... it's a habit... but,
my eyes are open.
I know where I am.
It is my fault.
I get out immediately.

Chapter IV
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.

Chapter V
I walk down another street.

"One resolution I have made, and try always to keep, is this: To rise above the little things."
~John Burroughs

Blessings to you and yours this brand new year.
